Cosmos Navigators

Press Release

October 11 – November 21, 2018

New York, NY – NonFinito Gallery is pleased to present Cosmos Navigators, the galleries’ first solo exhibition featuring Italian artist, Raimondo Galeano. Cosmos Navigators will run from October 11 through November 22, 2018.

Raimondo Galeano was born in Catanzaro, Italy in 1948. Working as a sound technician for a musical instruments company in the 1970s, Galeano grew a strong relationship with singers such as Mina and Gianni Morandi. It was in the occasion of a concert in Bologna where Galeano was introduced to a group of influential artists such as, Mario Schifano, Tano Festa and Franco Angeli. Galeano was so fascinated by their artworks that he decided to join them in Rome, thus entering the world of art during the thriving Italian Pop Art movement. He adopted a very unusual technique based on a very creative use of special luminescent pigments and powders.

The will to improve his knowledge in the arts, as well scientific fields together with a curiosity about Isaac Newton’s ideas, brought Galeano to start his personal research based on the idea that colors only pop out by the means of light.

Cosmos Navigators will run through November 21, 2018. With an opening reception on October 11, 2018 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, and by appointment.
